The Prince of Egypt? He Wish!
Imani is amused: “Ujima got a bit carried away in his pharaoh’s costume. ‘Come on to the party he said. It’ll be fun.’ Now he’s trying to lord it over folks like some third rate King Tut.”
Ujima is not amused: “Just to be clear, I’m not trying to be King Tut. I’m Ramses II, the Great. He was a great builder who created more monuments than any pharaoh in history, and a personal hero of mine”
A bit of holiday fun with Ujima as Ramses II and Imani as Nefertiti.

Trick! or Treat?
Kuji’s ready to Party! Black Panther Party: 50 years 1966–2016 Background posters by Emory Douglas This image is a play off the iconic photo of Huey Newton from back in their heyday. I’ve had this idea in my head for quite some time and had slowly collected props and such to use in it. Somehow it…

It’s All About Kuji
It’s been all about Kuji so far this year. Starting with Kuji’s Bookshelf and moving on from there. So here’s a four image master post, short on words but long on Kujiness. Enjoy. Are you hip to the bookphone challenge? Neither was I but Kuji wanted to play, so… Still exploring Kuji’s bookshelf with…

Wakanda Fashion: Nia’s Black Panther Dreams
I’ve been a Black Panther fan for a very long time, dating back to the 70’s. Even though I was excited to learn of the recent, most excellent film just released I figured I wouldn’t be able to make any fan art because I’ve been totally focused on my ongoing project, Kinara’s Children.
Well never say never, because it turns out that little Nia is a fan too. So I thought I’d whip up this little costume using Blender (natch), and hook Nia up with an early Halloween outfit.

Mother’s Day Love: Umoja, Kuumba and Nia
In this year’s Mother’s Day entry, Umoja, one of my favorite moms, enjoys a warm embrace from her hubby Kuumba while little Nia looks on. Mother’s Day is all about the relationship of a mom and her kids but fathers know and appreciate all that mom does for him and the family. No truer words have…

Kuji’s Bookshelf
College is still a ways off for Kuji, but she’s already thinking of what books she can take with her from her vast collection. She figures she can fit about 10 books into her cramped dorm room. Can you help a sista out? What essential volumes should a young black activist have on her bookshelf? Please comment or…
